The two current events relate to the Joint Waste Core Strategy, which is being prepared by Staffordshire County Council and Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
1. The ‘Consultation Statement’ for the Joint Waste Core Strategy for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent has been prepared in accordance with Regulation 30 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004, as amended in 2008 and 2009, ‘the Regulations’. It sets out how the Councils complied with Regulation 25 of the Regulations on public participation in production of the Joint Waste Core Strategy Development Plan Document.
2. The Publication version of the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Joint Waste Core Strategy is the version of the strategy that the Councils intend to submit to the Secretary of State. On 7 July 2011 - Staffordshire County Council Planning Committee approved this submission draft of the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Joint Waste Core Strategy. For further details see the Planning Committee Agenda|. The draft document was also approved by Stoke-on-Trent City Council's Cabinet on 28 July 2011 and full Council on 8 September 2011.
Public consultation on this Regulation 27 Publication document commences at 9.00 on 23 September 2011 until 16.30 on the 4th November 2011. The representations submitted will be forwarded to the Secretary of State. He will then appoint an Inspector who will hold an 'Examination' to consider whether the strategy complies with the legal requirements and is 'sound'. All representations must relate to the 'Tests of Soundness' set out by the Government.
